About Us
Learn more about our parish community
St. Michael the Archangel
This parish was born from the dreams of early 20th-century immigrants but found its permanent home in a renovated historic church in 1984. It serves a small but exceptionally dedicated community on Vancouver Island, often sharing its priest with the mission in Courtenay. The parish is highly active in local ecumenical efforts and provides essential support for new Ukrainian refugees settling in the Nanaimo area.
Rev. Stepan Vytvytskyi
Administrator
Father Stepan is the pastor of St. Michael the Archangel in Nanaimo, and he also serves as the Eparchial Communications Director. He manages the eparchy’s digital presence and news outreach while providing regular liturgical services to the faithful on Vancouver Island. His dual role allows him to bridge the gap between traditional pastoral work and modern communications technology.
